Polish Genealogical Society of Minnesota
A Branch of the Minnesota Genealogical Society
This program will provide an overview of what immigration looked like for Polish immigrants coming to America in the late 1800s and early 1900s. There will be examples of the advertisements that the Polish citizens would have seen for the journey by ship, as well as the questionnaires and forms they were required to complete before their emigration. It will also include the cost and routes of travel as well as where the immigrants would travel to after arriving in the United States and becoming U.S. citizens.
In addition, the speakers will address what is involved for a United States citizen to become a Polish citizen. They will cover the forms needed, any costs, and language needs, as well as Polish dual citizenship for individuals with Polish ancestry.
This program will be held in person at the Minnesota Genealogy Center, 1385 Mendota Heights Road, Mississippi Room, Mendota Heights, Minnesota 55120 as well as virtually by Zoom.
