SUMMARY:Travel to Poland: Options for Every Traveler
DESCRIPTION:Speakers:\nLaura Hunter\, PGS-MN Member\nTom Losinski\, PGS-MN Director at Large\nIwona Srienc\, Polish Cultural Institute of MN (PACIM) Director \n\n  \nHave you always wanted to travel to Poland\, but weren’t sure how to start planning? This program will consist of a panel  of three speakers who will present their own travel experiences in Poland: \n\nLaura participated in a 10-day organized Rick Steeves tour in May 2024\nTom traveled to Poland for two weeks in September 2024 with a neighborhood group\nIwona Srienc was born and raised in Warsaw\, Poland\n\nBoth Tom and Laura visited Gdansk\, Torun\, Warsaw and Krakow.  They will compare and contrast their types of travel\, offer pros and cons of each\, as well as share mementos and pictures from their travels.  All three panel members look forward to an open exchange with the audience. \nThis program will be held in person at the Minnesota Genealogy Center\, 1385 Mendota Heights Road\, Mississippi Room\, Mendota Heights\, Minnesota 55120 as well as virtually by Zoom. A Zoom link will be sent to all PGS-MN members a few days before the program. Attendees (both Zoom and in-person) do not need to register in advance.  \nNot able to attend this event? No worries – the program will be recorded and available on the PGS-MN website (under Program Meeting Archives) about a week after the program is held. \n  \nAbout the Speakers:\n \nEach of the panel member’s ancestors came from different areas of Poland.\nLaura Hunter is a PGS-MN member and a casual genealogy researcher with Polish roots in Michigan and Milwaukee\, WI. Her ancestors came from the Poznan and Gdansk areas of Poland.\nIwona Srienc is a Director on the PACIM Board. She was born and raised in Warsaw\, Poland\, which gives her a unique personal perspective on travel in Poland.\nTom Losinski has been a PGS-MN member since the 1990’s and is currently a PGS-MN Director at Large. He is a casual genealogy researcher\, and has Polish roots in Pine Creek\, WI and Winona\, MN. Tom’s ancestors immigrated from the Kashubia area of Poland. \n

SUMMARY:History of the Polish Settlement in Le Sueur County
DESCRIPTION:The New Prague Area Historical Society is sponsoring a program about the Polish immigrants who settled in Le Sueur County. The program will be held at the Pioneer Power Association show grounds from 6-7 pm. Tours of St. Jozefa Church (which is now located on the show grounds) will be available from 3-6 pm.
